Still Frame Photo from Video Tape

IN THE BAG! Or Is it? This photo may seem to be the end of the battle and very close to High Five time for the anglers onboard this boat. But with Kenai kings, you can NEVER let your guard down. A fish of 50 pounds can be four feet long and even though you have played them well they rarely give up easily. The fish in this scene could very well back its whole body out of the net in the course of two seconds if it isn't guided deep into the basket. And if that happens?....well lets just say you've given that fish its second wind and a renewed tenacity to become the victor. The netting process requires good communication and coordination between the guide and the angler so the line is slacked at the proper moment to allow the fish to turn down into the net. Its definitely adrenalin time first, then Miller time next.

Testimonial - "I am writing to show my support for these two fine gentlemen and the operation that they run. During my stay at the Tower Rock Lodge, I experienced some of the finest fishing in my life as well as some of the finest hospitality in my life. In concert with that, Mark & Mike demonstrated sportsmanship as well as genuine concern for the resource that provides them with a livelihood."

"While fishing with them, I realized that the other guides on the river looked up to them and actually considered them people who could offer leadership concerning the preservation of both the river and the fish that swim in it. Both of these gentlemen were knowledgeable as well as an asset to the Kenai Peninsula itself. I believe that both the ethics of fishing and the experience of fishing the Kenai would suffer if these two gentlemen were not around to offer their knowledge and expertise in helping to manage this wonderful resource."
