Our OVERNIGHTER Delight -
This photographer and his fishing partner in the photo practiced "selective harvest" during this silver salmon fishing overnighter trip. By keeping only male salmon there is no impact on the number of eggs spawned and the amount of fry which will hatch next spring. There are always plenty of males available to court the females when they are ready to lay their eggs. Of course you have to have some exceptional fishing in order to pick and choose what you may want to keep....and this overnight flyout provides just that. The fishing for silver salmon and Dolly Varden char during the month of August is something you will remember for a very long time.
The stream our overnight guests fish is small and clear, offering the angler the opportunity to see holes filled with coho and char. Most anglers choose fly fishing tackle because the action is so good that even novices and those with limited fly fishing skills can enjoy themselves as much as the next person. Better bring the BenGay though - your arms will ache after a day of fighting these silver torpedos. And for those in your group who may prefer to have a wildlife viewing experience while you catch fish, the lodge has all the transportation and locations to take you to some world-class brown bear viewing as well as much other local wildlife you won't forget. Refer to the previous "overnight" photo listed in our index.
