The upper Kenai River rainbow trout and salmon season begins on June 11th and continues straight through until freezeup. This section of the river is regulated for non-motorized boats and rafts so it is a quiet experience in a beautiful mountainous valley setting. Additionally the fishery is artificial lure or fly only waters and strictly Catch and Release for these trout. Over the years this section of the Kenai River has achieved trophy-class status and world recognition as an exceptional stream which provides anglers more rainbows per mile than most other comparable trophy waters. Its size, depth, clarity and velocity lend itself well to either fly fishing or spin fishing. The most frequently used fly patterns, such as flesh flies, imitation eggs, leeches, and sculpins, can be fished just as effectively with spinning gear for those anglers who prefer standand tackle. As you can see the angler in this photo has taken a nice 'bow on a white flesh fly using spinning tackle.

Testimonial - (not pictured angler) "A guided trip to the headwaters of the Kenai on one of my trips left me impressed with the concern Tower Rock showed in that they took every care to leave the area in better condition than we found it. They were extremely environmentally sensitive and it gave me a renewed belief in being environmentally conscious. The Lodge and their personnel showed me the finest in equipment and skills."
